Project Overview
Dada Devs is a Bitcoin-focused developer education initiative dedicated to empowering African female developers through open-source learning, mentorship, and community-driven programs.
The goal of this redesign was to transform the existing website into a modern, technical, and community-first platform that clearly communicates credibility, structure, and impact to developers, partners, funders, and the broader Bitcoin ecosystem.
Problem Statement
While Dada Devs had a strong mission and growing community, the existing website faced several challenges:
Unclear information hierarchy made it difficult for users to understand programs quickly
Limited visual expression of Bitcoin, open-source, and developer culture
Weak storytelling around impact, alumni outcomes, and community strength
Lack of consistency in layout, typography, and spacing
The site did not fully reflect the technical depth or professionalism of the initiative
As a result, new visitors especially developers and potential partners, found it harder to grasp the value of Dada Devs at a glance.
Project Goals
The redesign aimed to:
Clearly communicate Dada Devs’ mission, values, and impact
Create a technical, Bitcoin-native aesthetic aligned with open-source culture
Improve usability and navigation for multiple audiences
Highlight programs, curriculum structure, alumni stories, and partnerships
Build trust and credibility with sponsors, mentors, and funders
Deliver a scalable design system for future growth

Design Approach
1. Community-First Thinking
The design prioritises storytelling highlighting alumni, cohorts, sponsors, and shared learning so users immediately feel the sense of community.
2. Bitcoin & Developer Aesthetic
A dark-themed interface, technical typography, subtle grid systems, and code-inspired layouts reinforce credibility and developer trust.
3. Clarity Over Complexity
Content-heavy sections such as curriculum and programs were redesigned using card-based layouts and progressive disclosure keeping everything on one page without unnecessary clicks.
4. Scalability
The design system was created to support future cohorts, programs, blog growth, and partner expansion without visual inconsistency.
Key UX Decisions
Card-only stacked curriculum layout for easy scanning and readability
Single-page information flow to reduce friction and drop-offs
Metrics and impact sections positioned early to establish credibility
Clear CTAs for joining cohorts and the community
Hover and micro-interactions to enhance engagement without distraction
