Project Overview
Mavapay.money is a consumer-facing financial product that enables users to send money across borders, convert Bitcoin to local currencies, and manage secure wallets all within a fast, reliable, and user-friendly experience.
The product is designed to make Bitcoin-powered payments accessible, transparent, and practical for everyday users, especially across African markets.
Problem Statement
Despite the potential of Bitcoin to improve cross-border payments, many users still struggle with:
Confusing interfaces that make Bitcoin feel intimidating
Lack of clarity around fees, rates, and transaction status
Poor feedback during critical actions like sending or converting funds
Inconsistent experiences across wallets and transactions
Limited trust in digital financial platforms
mavapay.money needed to feel simple enough for first-time users while remaining powerful and reliable under the hood.
Project Goals
Make cross-border payments fast and easy to understand
Present Bitcoin as a utility, not a barrier
Improve transparency in balances, rates, and transaction states
Build trust through clean UI and predictable flows
Support multi-currency and Bitcoin wallets seamlessly

Design Approach
1. Clarity Above All
Every screen answers three questions:
What is my balance?
What is happening right now?
What happens next?
Clear typography, spacing, and hierarchy were prioritized to reduce cognitive load.
2. Bitcoin Without the Fear
Technical concepts were abstracted behind friendly language and progressive disclosure, allowing users to engage confidently without needing prior Bitcoin knowledge.
3. Trust-Centered UI
Clear error and success states
Transparent fee breakdowns
Consistent transaction status indicators
4. Mobile-First Thinking
Given the primary user base, flows were optimized for mobile usability and speed.

Key UX Decisions
Separating Bitcoin and USD wallets to reduce confusion
Using step-based flows for send and convert actions
Highlighting transaction states (pending, successful, failed)
Providing inline explanations where users might hesitate
Minimizing form fields during onboarding
